Abstract

The 13th Congress of the Hydrobiological Society of the Russian Academy of Sciences (HBS) was organized by the Arkhangelsk Branch of the HBS and held from 16 to 20 September 2024 in Arkhangelsk, Russian Federation. The event brought together researchers from across Russia studying marine and freshwater ecosystems. The thematic issue presents a selection of peer- reviewed papers from the congress, covering current advances and pressing challenges in hydrobiology
