- Abstract
Purpose: to provide an analytical review of the causes and mechanisms of corruption in Russian society. Methodology: the author systematically reveals the multifactorial nature of the phenomenon, going beyond the narrow legal understanding of the problem and demonstrating an interdisciplinary approach (political science, economics, sociology, criminology, psychology). The author does not reduce corruption to individual offenses, but considers it as a systemic phenomenon with its own mechanisms of reproduction. It is especially important to identify a “corruption system” with internal stability and interrelated elements. Results: effective anti-corruption involves the creation of a competitive, transparent and fair environment in society, strict legality and independent control
