Abstract

The digitalization of public relations and the development of digital technologies have led to the emergence of fundamentally new forms of sociotechnical reality – the metaverse. Despite the fact that scientific ideas about metaverses, due to their relative novelty, are at the initial stage of their formation, the danger of the rapid development of virtual worlds in the absence of proper legal and criminological regulation is already becoming obvious. The technical characteristics of metaverses allow us to identify them as a potential source of criminal danger, including the danger of corruption. Metaverses increase the vulnerability of objects of anti-corruption criminological protection. The consequence of this is the transformation of the environment of corruption crimes, the subject of bribery and the subject of corruption crimes, which will be considered in this paper
