- Abstract
A lot of attention is paid to the issues of wastewater treatment in the electrochemical industry, while the relevance of the topic continues to increase. The involvement of various waste products and innovative reagents will not only reduce the cost of the cleaning process, but also minimize the negative impact on the environment. The main purpose of this work is the purification of wastewater of various origins from copper compounds using the processes of adsorption and coagulation. Carbonizate obtained from the waste of the film processing line was chosen as the sorbent, and a complex titanium–containing coagulant was used as a reagent to intensify the purification process. It has been established that carbonizate is effective against complex copper compounds, which is due to the high chemical affinity of the carbonizate surface and the active ligand group, ammonium tartrate. For dissolved forms of copper, the use of carbonizate was less effective. It is proved that the use of complex titanium- containing coagulants makes it possible to minimize the content of suspended solids and copper ions in water that has passed the stage of adsorption. The consumption of complex reagents was 2 times lower compared to the traditional coagulant, aluminum sulfate. It is noted that the use of complex reagents makes it possible to intensify the processes of sedimentation and filtration of coagulation sludge by 2 and 1.5 times, respectively, compared with aluminum sulfate. The observed acceleration will improve the efficiency of treatment facilities and reduce their size. Based on the results obtained, it was concluded that the combined use of carbonizate from waste and complex titanium- containing reagents in wastewater treatment processes of electrochemical production from copper compounds is highly promising
