Abstract

This article examines Nganasan culture through the lens of cultural geography. This cultural studies discipline allows for the uniqueness of each ethnic culture to be revealed, taking into account the characteristics of the surrounding space, landscape, and flora and fauna that are relevant to each ethnic group and define their distinctive worldview. Concepts of the surrounding space are intertwined with religious beliefs and are traditionally enshrined in folklore. Historical legends and mythological tales of this Samoyedic ethnic group were selected as the research material for this study. The study describes the conceptualizations of space and the characteristics of territorial organization recorded in these texts, and analyzes their significance for modern times
