Abstract: This article examines the development of music education in secular secondary schools in Yenisei Province in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. An interdisciplinary fractal approach serves as the methodological and conceptual foundation of the study. Its logic, integrated into a historical-systemic method, facilitates a comprehensive and holistic understanding of the rich event-driven fabric of regional musical life and a new realization of the anthropological turn in local history research. Based on an analysis of a wide range of historical sources, the contribution of prominent musical and public figures (social leaders) – P. I. Ivanov-Radkevich, Yu. I. Rozit, I. M. Suslov, R. A. Frenkel, and others – to the development of academic traditions of music education in gymnasiums and teacher training seminaries in the cities of Yenisei Province is demonstrated. Unknown chapters of the region’s musical history are reconstructed: the academic creative groups, their leaders, compositions, and repertoires are identified. The musical and educational significance of secular secondary schools in pre-Soviet Krasnoyarsk is revealed, as well as their role in the development of the regional system of academic musical traditions
