Abstract

For the first time, materials from the Zelenogorsk‑2 multi‑layered site are published in full. The site is located in the middle part of the Kan River valley, at the junction of the Kansk‑Rybinsk Basin and the Yenisei Ridge. Archaeological work at the site was conducted in 1999 and 2000. Materials from the late Middle Ages, a burial from the late Early Iron Age, pottery from the Pre‑Scythian period and the Bronze Age, and individual Neolithic finds were uncovered at the site. These materials make it possible to clarify the areas of the Nizhneporozhinskaya and Shepilevskaya archaeological cultures. Finds from the site expand the range of sources on the archaeology of the Kansk forest‑steppe and adjacent territories during the late Middle Ages. The complexes from the late Early Iron Age have parallels in the Krasnoyarsk forest‑steppe and the Lower Angara region
