Abstract

The paper systematizes and describes in detail a collection of medieval iron artifacts from the holdings of the Kansk Museum of Local Lore. Based on archival data, the history of the collection’s acquisition, initiated in 1913 by D. S. Kargopolov, is partially reconstructed. Among the 106 classified artifacts, three functional categories are distinguished: weapons (arrowheads and spearheads), horse harness components (bits, stirrups, plume holders, piercers, buckles, and rings), and tools. The study identifies chronological complexes dating back to the late 1st millennium AD, as well as a predominant assemblage of items from the 11th‑14th centuries attributed to the Yenisei Kyrgyz culture. The research highlights the lack of reference medieval sites in the Kansk‑Rybinsk Basin and establishes a source base for further study of the region
