Abstract

The article presents the results of a thermogravimetric study on the influence of manganese content (0.01–0.5 wt.%) on the kinetics and energetic parameters of the oxidation process of Zn15Al alloy in the solid state at temperatures of 523–623 K. It was found that the addition of manganese leads to an increase in the true oxidation rate and a decrease in the apparent activation energy of the process. Polynomial dependencies of mass gain on time were determined, and regression coefficients were calculated. The results indicate the catalytic role of manganese in the oxidation process and its effect on the formation mechanism of the oxide film
