- Abstract
This article attempts to examine human life as a complex interaction of various semiotic and symbolic systems. In this regard, the focus of the research is on understanding life – in any living form, including non-human selves – as a specific semiosis and a specific semiotic system. An analysis of E. Kohn’s concept and his interpretation of Charles Peirce’s theory of signs becomes relevant. It is emphasized that the semiotics of symbolic signs and the formation of context play a significant role in human semiosis. It is symbols that determine the specific nature of human relationships with the whole, compared to the relationships of other, non-human, life forms to the whole. At the same time, the problem of meaning is essential for understanding human semiotics. In this regard, attention is drawn to the role of propositions, the coupling of metrics with topics, and the relationship between signs and symbols as the ideological and symbolic dimensions of life. Along with the identification and analysis of various aspects of symbolic logic and the role of symbols in human life, attention is drawn to the fact that in symbolic descriptions and reliance on the world of culture, human easily lose their natural orientation and connection with the natural world
