Abstract: This article demonstrates the potential of new techniques of conflict resolution in social work with the family. Management potential of family mediation is evaluated. The necessity of creation of a structure for work with family conflicts mediation service in the region is stated. Based on the results of the sociological research, the complicated nature of conflicts in dysfunctional families and families at risk is demonstrated, which requires ability of specialists working with the family to use basic mediation techniques. The barriers to introducing family mediation services in the region are discussed
