Abstract

The compound NaAlF4 was synthesized by vaporization of a melt of Na5Al3F14 at 800 oC. Crystal structure are solved by X-ray powder diffraction approach (Sp.gr. Pna, b a = 5,2617 (3) Å, b = 14,9469 (7) Å, c = 3,6124 Å, V=284,07 Å3). [AlF6] octahedra are linked through tops and form the zigzag layers with thickness in one octahedron. Sodium are placed between [AlF6] layers.
