Abstract

This paper attempts to uncover relevant methodological and practical approaches to the implementation of state cultural policy in the Russian Federation, bearing in mind its regional context and a task of preserving original habitat and sustainable socio-cultural development of the indigenous peoples of the North, Siberia and Far East. The author notes that the analysis of contemporary studies in cultural policy and existing practice reveals insufficient attention of scientists to ethno-cultural aspects, characterized by internal contradictions: on the one hand, there is integration into regional and global socio-cultural space, on the other, there is a desire to preserve ethnic and cultural unique identity. In conclusion, the author indicates promising directions of development of regional cultural policy in the northern territories, the implementation of which will help preserve the original habitat of the indigenous peoples and develop their self-identification
