The conditions of successful iron-carbon coupling in the reaction between cyclopentadienyliron dicarbonyl iodide and methyl propiolate upon the Pd/Cu catalysis were determined. A new high-yield synthetic approach to the methoxycarbonylethynyl iron complex Cp(CO)₂Fe-C≡C-COOMe were developed
