Abstract

The article reflects the scientific discussion about the specifics of modern youth and youth culture, reveals the need to consider them from the standpoint of cultural studies in the context of the cultural identification field of a particular national culture. The article is an experience of such consideration when the data of the sociological study of the cultural meanings of the student youth of the city of Krasnoyarsk are interpreted in the discourse of Russian philosophizing by Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky. A reasonable conclusion is made about the need for «soil» (Dostoevsky’s term) as a navigator of youth in the new technological and social reality. At the same time, modern youth culture is considered as a specific cultural autonomy, tending to go beyond the formal framework of the generation, in connection with which the problem of creating a competitive cultural field of the «Russian world» is even more urgent
