Abstract

The article is devoted to the trends of Russian youth culture that emerged during the restrictions of the pandemic, Western sanctions and the conduct of a special military operation. The article assesses the role of students distancing from the key military and social events of the moment in the process of experiencing social uncertainty and a «premonition of existentiality» of the modern confrontation between Russia and the West. The features of the conflict between the students «culture of the desired present» and the phenomenon of the «culture of cancellation» promoted by the West, on the one hand, and manifestations of the unity of Russian society, on the other, are clarified. The foundations of youth political preferences are revealed, in particular, the influence of new technological reality and «cinematic scenarios» in politics on their formation
