- Abstract
The article discusses the concept of “creative/creative industries” and the areas that relate to them. The mechanism of the existence of creative industries in our time and their importance in socio-cultural practice is described. Cinema occupies an important place among the directions of creative industries. As an example of actual film works, the author pays attention to the work of composer Philip Glass and his music for the Katsi trilogy. The role of musical minimalism in cinema is considered, as well as various compositional techniques applicable to this direction
