- Abstract
The article considers the activities of Tomsk cultural institutions from the point of their “involvement” in the experience economy. The methodological basis of the study was the experience economy theory of James H. Gilmore, B. Joseph Pine, the concept of cultural industries by D. Hezmondalsh and the interpretation of A. Bokovoy of the interconnection of cultural and creative industries. The sources for the study were the reports on the activities of state cultural institutions, work plans, posters, repertoire, concert programs, information on the sale of tickets for events. As a result of studying the activities of the Tomsk Philharmonic, the Drama Theater, as well as non-governmental organizations and art spaces of Tomsk, the following conclusions were made:1) the principle of the experience economy is of current importance in the activities of Tomsk cultural institutions; 2) cultural institutions expand the format of their events in order to form a unique offer aimed at attracting the consumer to gain new experience through interaction with a cultural product; 3) planning of concert and theatrical activity takes place with the allowance of the city status, the cultural level of the population and its need for obtaining certain information; 4) designed according to the principles of the experience economy, the projects are an integral part of the city’s creative industry
