Abstract

The article provides an analysis of the state economic policy for the development of problem regions in the East of Russia. The trend of shifting the priorities of regional policy from equalizing the subjects of the Russian Federation to stimulating the development of territories is shown. The issues about use effectiveness of institutions and mechanisms for the development of Russian regions with a low level of socio-economic development are considered. A comparative analysis of regional budgets revenues of the problem regions in Asian Russia was carried out, a conclusion was made about the insufficiency of their own resources for the development economy and the aggravation of this problem in the future. The necessity of changing the format of individual socio-economic development programs of Russian Federation subjects with a low level of development is substantiated. The limited use of stimulating regional policy in relation to problem areas is shown. It is concluded that it is necessary to conduct a selective regional policy
