Abstract

A significant part of Asian Russia (AR) still remains a pioneer development zone – a resource-type economy: projects for the extraction and transportation of minerals are being implemented here, which strengthen the specialization of the AR, but their multiplicative effect on the sparsely populated expanses of the AR is still low. The subject of the study is investments in projects implemented by private companies of the Republic of Armenia. The purpose of the study is to show the strengthening of the specialization of the economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the extraction of minerals by small companies by attracting private investment without the technological possibility of their deep processing. The subject of the study is investments in projects implemented by private companies of the Republic of Armenia. A database of AR private investment projects has been formed: 320 for the period from January 2021 to October 2022 (Review, 2021,2022; LLC, 2021, 2022). The analysis of the sectoral and regional structure of projects revealed an extremely high (66.6 %) share of projects for the extraction and/or processing of minerals (DPI) in the AR, confirming its main specialization. A subsample of DPI projects is selected from it for a more in-depth analysis. The descriptions of the projects give the volumes of the requested investments and many other useful information for analysis. Research methods: collection and systematization of primary data on projects; analysis of statistics on investments in fixed assets; substantiation of the relevance of the problem of extremely low level of processing by companies of minerals extracted in AR; in-depth analysis of projects by their level of technology, knowledge intensity, depth of processing of extracted raw materials, etc. The result is the creation and analysis of the database of private investment projects of the Republic of Armenia, the development of recommendations to solve the problem of a sharp increase in the depth of processing of DPI and a decrease in the export of raw materials in the last stages
