- Abstract
This article analyzes the place and the role of the prosecutor’s office of Tuvan People’s Republic, it is noted that in the context of the current political situation of that time, the actual status of the prosecutor’s office in the system of state bodies was significantly lower than that of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and local authorities. This situation, according to the authors, is due to a number of circumstances. First of all, the impact on state bodies of traditional norms of customary law, as well as the fact that the institution of the prosecutor’s office was an introduced element for the Tuvan population that had no analogues in the past. And it was established only in 1935, while it did not have a separate material and financial support, it lacked staff positions, until 1941 there were no prosecutors in the rural areas of the republic. The available personnel working in the capital had a low level of education. The activities of the prosecutor’s office were determined by the policy of Tuvan People’s Revolutionary Party and depended on its decisions. The first years of the prosecutor’s office coincided with political repressions, the first prosecutor of TPR, Kara-Sal Pirinlei, was shot. The article provides specific facts, archival documents, excerpts from legal acts
