Abstract

The purpose of this article is to assess the possibilities of children’s health centers in organizing the coordination training of young athletes specializing in table tennis. The need to solve this problem lies on the importance of maintaining the required degree of coordination training of young athletes during their attendance outside the training process as a condition for ensuring the success of competitive activity. The article purpose is achieved by conducting a theoretical analysis of existing studies in the theory and methodology of sport reflecting the main aspects of the process of development of coordination abilities as well as of experimental study on the basis of the All-Russian Children’s Center “Orlyonok” among boys 12–13 years old specializing in table tennis who are on vacation in this center. The generalization of the obtained results of the study allows us to determine the practical importance of finding ways to ensure continuous coordination training of boys specializing in table tennis using the potential of mass sporting work, which is implemented in the conditions of children’s health centers. Taking into account the identified opportunities we substantiate the means of coordination training of 12–13 years old boys, ensuring the preservation of their stable degree of development of coordination abilities during their attendance in the abovementioned institutions
