- Abstract
The demand for physical culture and sports industry specialists is constantly growing, as the expansion of affordable and comfortable sports infrastructure in most regions of the Russian Federation contributes to the growth of those who want to engage systematically in physical exercises in order to preserve and strengthen their health, to increase the level of sportsmanship in high- performance sports. More than a hundred institutions of higher education train specialists for the industry in the Russian Federation, but most of them have small quotas of budget places for applicants. The leading role here is played by fourteen specialized institutions of higher education of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation. They are producers of specialists in the direction of training sport: 49.03.04, which profiles professionals cover almost all sports developing in the Russian Federation. Nine federal universities make a significant contribution to the training of specialists in the direction of physical culture: 49.03.01. In addition, five of them provide training in pedagogical education with two training profiles (44.03.05), which allows you to obtain knowledge and skills in two areas: pedagogy and another related discipline, which is not available at the institutions of higher education in the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation. The prospects of both groups of institutions of higher education are increasing with the establishment of Sports Training Centers for Student National Teams on their basis. The project has already been launched since January 1, 2023 at the institutions of higher education of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation. Federal universities are getting ready to launch student sports development centers at the base of Siberian and Ural Federal Universities, which will increase the capabilities of these universities to open and expand the direction of sports training (49.03.04) in the educational process
