- Abstract
The article investigates the possibility of sorption removal of calcium and magnesium ions from lithium-containing brines using chelate ion-exchange resins with iminodiacetate (Diaion CR 11), phosphonic (Purolite S 950) and sulfophosphonic (Purolite S 957) functional groups. Experiments on the sorption of calcium and magnesium under dynamic conditions from a model chloride solution containing ions of alkali (Li, Na, K) and alkaline earth metals (Ca, Mg) have been carried out. The total dynamic exchange capacity and separation factors for each of the sorbents were determined. A sorbent was chosen that allows efficient removal of calcium and magnesium ions from lithium-containing chloride solutions
