Abstract

In the first part of the article, the prerequisites for the formation of regional visual culture are considered using the examples of studies of the northern territories in the 15th‑19th centuries, the factors of the formation of visual culture are determined, and the ways of composing the visual image of the North of Russia are revealed. The second part of the article presents the concept of intertextuality, which is accepted as one of the components of a literary text. In the third part of the article, intertextual analysis is used as a tool for researching texts of Siberian artistic culture. With the help of a philosophical and art criticism analysis of historical works by Krasnoyarsk artists, the intertextual connections of artistic images of regional painting of the 20th century with the artistic imagery of classical works of European and Russian culture are revealed. Krasnoyarsk artists S. E. Orlov and A. M. Znak turn in their revolutionary historical works to both European and Ancient Russian fine art, comparing local historical events of the 20th century with the events of sacred history. When considering these artistic images, a number of intertextual connections with the images of historical paintings by V. I. Surikov are also revealed, whose work had a significant impact on the artistic thinking of subsequent generations of Krasnoyarsk painters
