Abstract

The catalytic hydrodeoxygenation of oleic acid over Pt supported on mixed magnesium and aluminum oxides with Mg2+/Al3+ ratio 1, 2, 3 and 4 was studied. 100 % feed conversion and heptadecane obtaining as the main products of decarbonylation/decarboxylation reactions was demonstrated. The formation of stearic acid esters in side reactions due to the high basicity of the catalysts was shown
