Abstract

A coupled mathematical model for the process of a composite synthesis from a powder mixture under laser heating conditions is presented. The model takes into account two phenomena that are neglected in traditional models of surface treatment and 3D technologies. They are the heat transfer- deformation behaviour and heat release in chemical reactions. The formation of composition is described by a simplified reaction scheme that includes the total reaction leading to the formation of hardening particles and the total reaction of matrix formation. The influence of stress work on reaction rates is taken into account. The stress-strain state is described in the quasi-static approximation. As a result, it is shown that coupling of processes of different physical nature is important both for determining composition of the composite and for estimating the associated stresses and strains
