Abstract

The article highlights the main stages of the life and scientific work of Larisa Romanovna Pavlinskaya, a scientist widely known in Russia and abroad, a major specialist in the field of Siberian studies, culture, ethnogenesis and ethnography of the peoples of Siberia, and issues of artistic metalworking. The article discusses the fundamental contribution of L. R. Pavlinskaya in the context of laying the foundations of post-Soviet Siberian studies, the history of interethnic, intercivilizational contacts in the vastness of Eurasia. The authors pay particular attention to the most important stages of scientific work on the study of the features of the ethnic culture of the nomads of Southern Siberia. They discuss the methodological approach of L. R. Pavlinskaya in the framework of organizing a dozen museum exhibitions in Russia and abroad with the display of unique items from the collections of the Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography (Kunstkamera) of the Russian Academy of Sciences
