Abstract

The problem of purification of aqueous solutions from organic dyes on the example of Rhodamine C (Rhodamine B, Basic Violet 10) by combining chemical oxidation and adsorption purification has been studied. The application of a highly effective oxidizing reagent – peroxodisulfuric acid generated by electrochemical method is substantiated. Iron (II) compounds were used as a catalyst of decomposition with formation of persulfate radicals. At a dosage of H2S 2O8 10 mg/mg and Fe(II) 3.3 mg/g, the degree of decolorization of model pollutant reaches 75 %, but further increase does not increase the oxidation (decolorization) efficiency. To provide additional purification, adsorption of dye by active carbons AG‑3 and T (Tijit) on coal basis was chosen. The highest degree of adsorption of Rhodamine C was achieved using activated carbon AG‑3
