Abstract

The article examines the features of the arrival of Buddhism in Tuva in the context of sociocultural dynamics. The process of formation of the institution of Kamba Lama in Tuva is considered to be long and rather complex. The stages of institutionalization of Buddhism in the last century and up to the modern period are revealed. The author explores such historical events related to the development of Buddhism in the region in the last century as the Congress of the Buddhist clergy in 1917, the first All-Tuvan Congress of Lamas in 1928, and gives a description of the activities of famous Tuvan Lamas
