- Abstract
In the context of geopolitical instability and sanctions against Russia, science cities, as centers with a high concentration of scientific personnel, play an important role in the formation of an innovative economy and ensuring technological sovereignty. The study is aimed at analyzing the problems of the functioning of science cities, identifying the factors contributing to their successful development, using the example of the science city of Koltsovo in the Novosibirsk region. An analysis of the key performance indicators of science cities was conducted, the activities of the Koltsovo scientific and production complex as one of the most successful science cities in Russia were studied. The directions of its socio-economic development were characterized, and the dynamics of budget revenues and expenses were tracked. It was shown that an integrated approach is required for the effective functioning of science cities, including government support measures, attracting private capital, developing scientific and technological infrastructure, and creating favorable conditions for the life and work of specialists
