Abstract

The article examines the interest of the scientific community in traditional medicine of indigenous peoples. It highlights studies of changes in the lives of indigenous peoples, their interactions with other cultures, the revival of languages and cultures, cultural memory and identity. The main focus is on ethnomedicine, ethnobotany and the use of traditional knowledge in modern conditions. The need for ethnobiological research is emphasized due to the disappearance of traditional knowledge and medicinal plants. The article also examines the definition of traditional medicine of indigenous peoples given by the World Health Organization. Conclusions are made on the prospects for the development of this direction
