- Abstract
The article is devoted to the analysis of literary texts of the Tungus- Manchu peoples as sources of ethnic knowledge of the plant world. The Evenki ethnic group was chosen by the authors as a representative people of this group. The main materials of the study are literary sources, which are academically published texts of Evenki folklore. As a result of the analysis of folklore texts on the subject of the ethnic group’s knowledge of the plant world, the authors come to the conclusion that the types of representations of plant world elements in Evenki folklore can be divided into four groups. The first block of such references is the details of the description of the surrounding space, the second records the use of plants as a material for the manufacture of household items and sacred activities of the Evenks, the third is the use of plants in ritual activities, and the smallest in terms of the number of examples, the fourth, is the use of plants for food
