Abstract

Despite numerous evidence of the effect of coronaviruses on life satisfaction, there is a lack of comprehensive studies taking into account biological, psychological and sociocultural factors. This study presents a model explaining the relationship between severity of COVID‑19‑related illness and life satisfaction, as well as its mediating factors. The results show that most significant contribution to life satisfaction is the quality of life, which involves an optimal relationship between physical, mental, economic status and social support. At the same time, increased psychopathological symptoms (obsessive thoughts and actions, somatization, interpersonal sensitivity, depression, anxiety, hostility and fears) negatively affect quality of life, which in turn reduces satisfaction with it. The developed and verified model allows identifying differentiated approaches to rehabilitation of people after coronavirus’s infection
