Abstract

The text discusses the problem of processing liquid radioactive waste (LRW) of medium and low activity levels in devices using evaporation technology in thin films. Various types of LRW processing devices are described. Their principles of operation, advantages and disadvantages, such as overgrowth of the heating surface with salt deposits and difficulties when working with solutions containing surfactants, are considered. It is noted that the drum-film evaporator has technical advantages over the above installations due to a higher salinity and a smaller volume of concentrate after evaporation, which makes it a promising solution for improving the technology of LRW processing
