Abstract

In the article, based on the proposed periodization of the main stages of L. G. Yakob’s scientific activity, his most significant achievements in the field of philosophy and economic sciences are considered in more detail. These views, as it seems, had a direct influence on a number of provisions of the draft of the Criminal Code for the Russian Empire prepared by L. G. Yakob, which became one of the main things in the life of the scientist. In particular, the said draft, taken as a basis for the preparation of the Draft Criminal Code of the Russian Empire of 1813, realized a very controversial attempt to introduce the most soft (liberal) in the history of Russian criminal legislation approach to counteracting corruption, which largely contradicted the vector of the fight against this socially negative phenomenon that had been established by that time
