Abstract

This article examines the prevention of corruption in higher education within the framework of anti-corruption security theory. The focus is shifted from counteracting corruption as such to the protection of objects of anti-corruption security and their interaction with sources of corruption threats. Anti-corruption protection is considered as a separate element of the anti- corruption security system, aimed at reducing the vulnerability of higher education institutions to corruption risks. The article identifies the main directions of anti-corruption protection in higher education institutions, including anti-corruption education and awareness for staff and students, assessment of corruption risks, ensuring transparency, implementation of standards of conduct, and review of internal regulations. It is concluded that these directions constitute the basis of anti-corruption protection, but do not exhaust its possible measures. The study emphasizes the need for further theoretical and practical development of anti-corruption protection in higher education
