Abstract

The article shows the dependence of magnetic induction on the geometry of the magnetic system of an electric motor. Classic methods for calculating electric motors have errors in practice due to simplifications made for quick and easy design. Numerical modeling of physical processes occurring in an electric motor allows the main physical effects to be taken into account in a three- dimensional setting, which increases the accuracy of predicting the operating characteristics of a real electric motor. The disadvantage of this method is the labor intensity and long modeling time of the electric motor under study. Taking into account the main effects, in particular the edge effect from the electric machine inductor, in analytical calculations and numerical modeling in a two-dimensional setting will speed up the process of designing and optimizing the electric motor while maintaining the required accuracy.
