- Abstract
The article reviews the history of the study of archaeological sites on mount Piket (the village of Srostki, Biyskii region of the Altai Krai). The study analyzes the compliance of these monuments (Piket settlement, Srostki-I burial mound and Srostki Paleolithic site) with the criteria for their museumification and evaluates their tourist and recreational potential. The assessment of the tourist and recreational potential of the mentioned monuments is based on the works of D.V. Boitsova, A.S. Kuskova, A.N. Medved‘. The researchers are making refinements and additions to the existing schemes, taking into account the regional specifics of Altai and Western Siberia. As a result of the research, the authors came to the following conclusions: the archaeological sites on mount Piket almost perfectly meet all the criteria for museumification; historical and cultural (archaeological), tourist and recreational resources of mount Piket can be assessed as high or even very high. The special value of these resources is determined by the location of archaeological sites: they are part of the All-Russian Memorial Museum-Reserve of V.M. Shukshin; and they are located on mount Piket between the Katun’ River and the Chuiskii Trakt. The research made by the authors can be used in modern museum activities, as well as in the tourism sector
