- Abstract
The article examines materials from burial mounds of the early nomad era in the Southern Urals. The features of the burial rite, the architecture of burial mound structures, and the main types of burials indicate their high social status. The burial mounds are distinguished by relatively large embankments and a complex organization of the under-mound space. Among the burial structures, central dromos graves and chamber (undercut and catacomb graves) burials on the periphery of the mounds were revealed. The accompanying inventory found in the studied mounds is distinguished by its richness and diversity. Among the inventory, items related to the category of imported items are of particular importance. Some items belong to the circle of Achaemenid antiquities (samples of pottery ceramic, stone beads, etc.). Another part of the inventory (weapons, horse equipment) has direct analogies in the Scythian and Meotian complexes of the North Caucasus, the Don and Dnieper regions. The burial rite and accompanying inventory of the studied burial mounds allow us to classify them as monuments of the Filippov circle in the Southern Urals of the 4th – early 3rd centuries BC
