- Abstract
This article explores the traditional medical beliefs of the Samoyedic peoples – the Nenets, Enets, Selkups, and Nganasans. It analyzes their ethnic concepts of disease origins, therapeutic and preventative practices, including the use of animal and plant remedies, and the healing functions of shamanism. It identifies distinctive features of the interpretation of the causes, treatment methods, and prevention of diseases in the cultures of these peoples, emphasizing the shared ethnocultural significance of understanding these processes for working with the identity of the indigenous peoples of the North
