- Abstract
This article examines ways of representing the concepts of “health” and “illness” in the visual arts, including art dedicated to the indigenous peoples of the North, Siberia, and the Far East. Based on a summary of the results of linguacultural studies of the “health- illness” conceptual sphere, three substantive lines of visualization of these concepts in the visual arts are identified: 1) physical health and illness; 2) mental health and mental illness; 3) health and illness as the embodiment of ideas about life and death. Based on an analysis of the representatives, specific ways of representing health and illness are identified in each of the three groups
