Abstract: The analysis of existing procedure of rationing of losses by mineral processing is made. Influence of the current approach on a status and technological development of the concentrators is shown. It is established, what even in the perfect conditions, operating practice guarantees a choice not the most effective technological decisions. The approach to rationing of the losses, based on use of group specifications is offered. It is shown that it will allow to improve the subsurface use, to provide development of engineering business and to motivate the companies for technological development
