- Abstract
Contact interaction of Bi2O3-GeO2 melts with gold and silver was investigated by the sessile drop method. It was found that these melts spread over the silver surface rather rapidly whereas equilibrium wetting angles formed on gold. In all cases the melt-solid contact was followed by the dissolution of gold and silver in the oxide melts.
