Abstract

This work represents the data on age and location of relict wood of Siberian pine on the Central Altai. We analyze features of forest distribution on the territory near the glaciers and give interpretation and indicative features of relict wood. We represent the results of building floating chronologies from three large Altai mountain-glacial valleys. We estimate the potential of the paleoclimatic information using response function analysis of the modern Siberian pine chronologies and analyze possibility of an absolute binding of the paleo-chronologies based on existing super-long Siberian larch chronologies.
