Abstract

The chemical peculiarities of calciferous scarnoid minerals are characterized in the paper. The scarnoids contain a rare hibonite mineral in association with vesuvian, grossular, hercynite, magnetite, corundum, apatite, perovskite. The contact zones of scarnoids are enriched with diopside, grossular and scapolite. The electronic-probe studies results of the chemical composition of these minerals and their crystal-chemical formulas are presented in the paper. The lack of rare-earth specialization of scarnoid typical for other hibonite occurrences and their high alumina content are also stated.
