Abstract

A study is made of the large-size germanium single crystal preparation for infrared optics and attention is given to the analysis of crystal growth techniques. Capability of producing disk-shaped germanium single crystals by the method of directional crystallization is demonstrated and the technological peculiarities of the growth process are described.
