Abstract

The paper highlights the problems of the theory of rumours in various Humanities: psychology, history, linguistics, study of literature, etc. Particular attention is given to the problem of the “rumours” definition, as well as to the issues of “Rumours in situations of social conflicts”, “The image of rumours in Russian linguistic world-image”, “Reliability and confidence in rumours”, “Communicative nature of rumours”.
