Abstract

The article describes the history of the formation of participatory art in the city of Krasnoyarsk – a fairly new phenomenon in the domestic artistic culture, especially in the regional context. In order to fully reveal the specifics of artistic practices in Siberia, research literature on the topic of participatory art is considered, the most important provisions of theorists on this issue are highlighted. In particular, the works of N. Burriot and K. Bishop are considered in more detail. In addition to foreign theories, studies by domestic authors are also discussed. In the history of the development of Krasnoyarsk participatory art, two stages are distinguished: the first – the 1990–2000s, the second – 2010–2020s. The study focuses on a more detailed examination of representative examples of participatory art created in the second stage, since at this time a more conscious dialogue with different audiences is built. A description of several of the most striking projects is given, by the example of which the features of a participatory approach to creating a work in the light of a previously defined classification are shown: these are the projects of the artist Alexander Zakirov, the Workshop «Experiences of Art», the project «Crazy Exhibition» within the framework of the XIV Krasnoyarsk Museum Biennale and the PubLab2 project «Broken Forest»
