Abstract

The demand for high-quality food products is growing all over the world, which enhances organic agriculture development. Organic food production is at the initial stages of development in Russia, and the law on organic products entered into force only in 2020. The production of organic goods is constrained by high certification costs, threats of crop loss from weeds, pests and diseases, as well as problems of yield reduction due to restrictions on the use of mineral fertilizers and plant protection products. The advantage of Siberia in the production of organic items is the availability of agricultural land with low pesticide load. In addition, Russia has recently been focusing on the export of agricultural products to Asian markets, and Siberian universities have provided significant scientific and technical support to organic food producers
